Adriana was born in Quito-Ecuador. From a very young age, she knew she wanted to be a fashion designer. Driven to pursuit this dream, she travelled to Milano so she could see, breathe, and feel the latest trends in the world of fashion. She studied Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni and then specialized in Industrial Women's Patternmaking in Istituto Secoli (Milano). She later worked for various Italian designers (Guiliano Marelli and Giorgio Kauten). In 1996 she returned to Ecuador, where she started working for Pinto Industries and was in charge of the Design Department. After eight years, she moved to Madrid, where she worked for DEVOTA & LOMBA. She assisted the designer Modesto Lomba in the “Cibeles“ Madrid Fashion Week and designed the brand’s Woman's Ready to Wear line. Three years later, she returned to Ecuador ready to develop and launch her own Ready to Wear line for women. It was named “GALASSIA” and it was presented in two major Ecuadorian runways: “Fashion TV” and “Ecuador Fashion Week”. This collection was composed of pieces with architectural lines and futuristic volumes. She was awarded with the “Best Designer” prize and is considered a fashion referent and and international designer in Ecuador.
Since then, Adriana has shown her collections in numerous international fashion events such as the “Buenos Aires Alta Moda” in Argentina, “Fashion Fest” in Panama, a trunk show in the Design District in Miami, “Fashion in Flight” in Austin, Texas, and Planete Chic in New York Fashion Week. her designs also were presented in Yambal Fashion Week, Quito-Ecuador. She has been chosen for the fifth consecutive time to participate in the Designer Book runway, which takes place in Guayaquil- Ecuador. This event is an annual collective show that presents the latest work by the most prominent Ecuadorian designers. likewise she participated in various runways such as FTV Runway in 2007 and Contrastes Runway in 2008.
In addition to her Ready to Wear line, she produces a casualwear line: ACD by Adriana Cobo. It launched in department stores in Mexico, and is now sold in department stores in Ecuador. Her childrenswear line, Adriana Cobo Bambini, has sold in Miami and now sells in Ecuador retail and wholesale.
Adriana’s experience and participation in the mentioned runways and fashion industry has enabled the brand to reach more women around the world. Adriana's lines have sold in Miami (Global Trends Showroom), Panama (Soho, Uma), Mexico (Palacio del Hierro and Liverpool department stores), New York City (Pamela Gonzales Soho), and Ibiza (Lemis). In Quito, Ecuador, her merchandise has sold in C&C, a store owned by her sister and jewelry designer Gabriela Cobo and herself, located in Mall El Jardin. In Guayaquil, Ecuador, she sold in Vesania, located in San Marino Shopping, and Vintage, located in Plaza Lagos Mall. Last year, she started selling both ACD by Adriana Cobo and Adriana Cobo Bambini in Megamaxi, the biggest Ecuadorian company with hundreds of supermarkets, hipermarkets and retail department stores.
